blogshelf ipad app

Rating: ★★★★☆

BlogShelf is a relatively new release for the iPad and it is a great application. The idea of the app is that it is a way to keep all of your blogs that you like and your RSS feeds all kept nicely arranged and easy to find in one application. The application is similar to iBooks in the way that it is presented and this means that the application looks great, even if it does look rather similar. Of course, it is not just a book shelf for your RSS feeds and your blogs, even though it does do this and the app is called this. The app actually has some fantastic features that really help to make your life much easier and take the strain out of finding your favourite blogs and RSS feeds.

goodreader app review

Rating: ★★★½☆

Although there is already a lovely interface for ebooks offered by Apple’s very own iBooks on the iPad, there are also a number of different types of documents that the average desktop user would wish to read, i.e. documents, PDF’s, presentations, spreadsheets, high resolution images, HTML web pages and many others. iBooks – Apples new bookstore

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

iBooksiBooks is an iTunes like book store, that allow users to create a virtual bookshelf on the iPad screen, pick a book and start reading. While reading eBooks, readers can change pages with a tap or swipe on the new iPad, can even choose the font the text is displayed in.

It remains to be seen the effect that the iPad will have on the sale of the Amazon Kindle. Will the iPad be purchased by serious readers, or the “two book a year brigade”. Other questions include: How can you read a novel on a backlit screen, without the eye strain? What content will be available on iBooks?

We will just have to wait and see …..
